The Establishment of MGCIP Champions Malaysia and Guangdong Business Synergy

Agreement Signed Between MGCIP & CCPIT—Guangdong

MGCIP & CCPIT Guangdong had signed an Agreement of “Setting of the Guangdong–Malaysia Bilateral Enterprises Business Council” on 12 Sept 2008 witnessed by Malaysia’s then Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Razak, then Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Secretary General of Guangdong Province, H.E. Mr Wang Yang.

Objectives & missions:

  1. To promote exchange and cooperation between the Guangdong and Malaysia business communities;
  2. To discuss bilateral trade and investment issues and examine the impact of current policies; and
  3. To investigate difficulties encountered by enterprises in Guangdong and Malaysia and discuss ways to solve these problems to further promote economic cooperation and prosperity.

The 1st MGCIP Committee was successfully established on 24 May 2009 following MGCIP’s 1 st AGM. Tan Sri Lim Hock San, Managing Director of LBS Bina Group Berhad was elected as the President. There were a total of 19 committee members who sit in the board.
